In Utility → MIDI → Input Chan, select the channel sent by the controller or DAW. Then send one note on that same channel. Do not confuse Input Chan with the separate Output Chan setting.
Fastest check and exact settings
- Identify the MIDI channel used by the controller or DAW track.
- Open Utility → MIDI → Input Chan on the MicroFreak.
- Choose the matching channel, or use All only when receiving every channel is intentional.
- Send one note and confirm it reaches the MicroFreak.
Diagnose it
Does the sender use the same channel selected by Input Chan?
Yes: Check the physical/USB route and the sender’s output selection.
No: Match Input Chan to the sender before testing again.
Did you change Output Chan instead?
Yes: Output Chan controls what the MicroFreak sends; set Input Chan for received notes.
No: Confirm the source actually transmits the selected channel.
How to test
A note on the selected input channel reaches the MicroFreak.

If it still doesn’t work
Recheck the physical MIDI direction and the exact source device setting. If this behavior differs on your hardware, keep the model/revision and setup details for a correction report.
